Target will hold its car seat trade-in event Sept. 11-24, 2022, at all stores.Target

Twice a year, Target holds its popular car seat trade-in event.

The next one will be Sunday, Sept. 11, through Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022.

Customers can exchange an old, expired or damaged car seat for a 20% off coupon on the Target app or Target.com/circle for a new car seat, a stroller or other select baby gear.

The coupon can be redeemed through Oct. 8, 2022.

Target said the materials from the old car seats are recycled by Waste Management “to create new products such as pallets and plastic buckets, and construction materials such as steel beams and carpet padding.”

Since it started the program in 2016, Target said 1.97 million car seats and 29.6 pounds of car seat materials have been recycled.
